What you will be doing:
- Provide analysis of current infrastructure and recommends upgrades and changes for future growth
- Oversee the installing, configuring, and testing of operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Ensure that all computer systems and infrastructure are operating at the highest levels of availability
- Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention
- Configuring, debugging, and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms
- Performing high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures
- Provides on the job training and coaching less experienced staff members and interns as necessary.
- Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
- Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure system-related products and services
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of four years related experience working with operating system hardware and/or software components in a large IT environment with many categories of devices, infrastructures and operating systems may be accepted
- 3+ years' experience in Microsoft Windows 2016 Active Directory
- 3+ years' experience working with Linux, AWS Cloud, and Linux OS
- Proficient at virtualization platforms such as VmWare, Xen, and KVM
- Excellent leadership, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, Chef)
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
- Experience in Cloud technology, preferably AWS
