*** Core Responsibilities Not Limited to ***

Direct and oversee HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with G.E. Mechanical quality and safety standards and all applicable regulations:

  • Responsible for quantity take-offs, cost estimating, cost analysis, bid reviews and document management for commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Determining competitive and accurate estimates to achieve margin and financial targets
  • Organizes and manages centralized cost estimating models to ensure current and strategic pricing data is used during proposal development
  • Work closely with existing PM's for estimating activities and business development opportunities
  • Consistently refining estimating formulas
  • Follow-up with potential clients to finalize the work agreement
  • Execute his/her projects to the standard set by G.E. Mechanical
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Supervise and Interface with service technicians to ensure projects are delivered per estimates, as well as guiding technicians to provide necessary information to complete estimates when a site visit is not feasible
  • Identify resources, assign workloads and manage schedules to ensure timely deliveries
  • Address business inquiries from customer and team members in a professional manner
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Process client invoicing promptly
  • Prepare and maintain marketing/promotional materials and marketing campaigns
  • Generating leads and new customers through mailing and calling efforts
  • Supervise one or two estimators/project managers:
  • Provide guidance to team members and monitor their performance, discipline and attendance on regular basis
  • Identify areas of improvements and concerns in his or her team and accordingly develop action plans
  • Oversee staffing adjustments to obtain maximum productivity
  • Identify skill gaps and provide appropriate training to team
  • Ensure that team work in compliance with company policies and procedures

*** Qualifications ***

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field of study / experience preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with HVAC and Plumbing equipment estimates and projects (preferred)
  • Possess skill and understanding in conceptual estimating
  • In-depth understanding of estimating & construction procedures and material and project management principles
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets
  • Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures
  • Extensive experiencing managing budgets for construction projects
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Ability to collaborate across functions to manage cost and price factors influencing customer acquisition, retention and revenue
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques
  • Knowledge of estimating software programs and EXCEL
  • Professional, ethical, and a team player willing to grow with the company
