Manage a cross-functional team of staff and contract resources in the planning, engineering, and construction of substation and transmission line projects. Project portfolio will be comprised of large, complex, high-value projects and could have durations over multiple years. The Project Manager is responsible for: estimating cost and schedule, environmental compliance, public input, design, contract management, procurement, land acquisition, construction, commissioning, and close-out functions. This position also directs project-specific communications with Member Systems, customers, communities, and other utilities. Project managers also develop and implement business processes to manage capital projects safely and effectively. Site visits for projects, including scoping meetings, pre-construction meetings, and final inspection meetings are required. Overnight travel and participation in storm restoration activities will also be required.
BS in Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management
PE licenses or PMP certification preferred
Project Manager: Eight (8) years in the utility industry with experience in some of the following areas: scoping, estimating, project control, contract administration, facility siting, environmental/regulatory, land acquisition, design, and construction
Senior Project Manager: Ten (10) years in the utility industry with experience in some of the following areas: scoping, estimating, project control, contract administration, facility siting, environmental/regulatory, land acquisition, design, and construction
Knowledge of project management principles and techniques
Experience developing and managing multiple project budgets, construction plans, and schedules
Demonstrated history focusing on Safety and leading by example
Excellent oral and written communication
Experience with Primavera and Microsoft Office
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening
