Directs and oversees the Corporation's efforts to develop and implement regulatory strategy regarding reliability standards, guidelines, and other transmission policy issues that may impact GTC and its Members. Monitors, analyzes, and reports on new and proposed regulations affecting the Corporation and its Members and recommends GTC actions accordingly, while appropriately coordinating with the Family of Companies (FOC), Member representatives and internal and external legal counsel. Provides strategic, policy and regulatory support and assistance to Executive Management and System Services. Reviews both Federal and State legislative activity and identifies potential impacts to the Corporation and/or the Members. Develops and maintains effective relationships with regulatory agencies and engages in industry events to stay current regarding industry regulatory trends that could impact the Corporation.

Education: Juris Doctor

Experience: 8 years of relevant regulatory affairs experience in the electric utility or electric transmission sector. Prefer experience working with FERC, ERO Enterprise, DOE, NERC, or similarly structured regulatory bodies.

Equivalent Experience: Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant regulatory affairs experience in the electric utility or electric transmission sector. Prefer experience working with FERC, ERO Enterprise, DOE, NERC, or similarly structured regulatory bodies.

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Understanding of electric utility business and political issues. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, presentation and negotiation skills. Must possess excellent organization and time management skills, technical/analytical and creative problem solving skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must have good computer knowledge and competent with financial analysis. Must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to assume complete responsibility for job requirements with minimal guidance or direction. Job duties are to be performed in accordance with all applicable standards, including NERC reliability standards.
