San Diego, CA, Onsite with possible occasional/part-time telecommuting. Minimal domestic travel required, possibly 10% of time.

Job Description

GALT Aerospace is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer III. GALT currently has a small software team and is ready to grow. This is a chance to get in early and build a team, environment, and culture the right way. GALT Aerospace seeks engineers that are experienced, talented, motivated, creative, collaborative, self-starting, and/or just the right combination thereof.

The qualified candidate will work in a rapid integration and testing environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The selected candidate will work primarily full-cycle software development but will need to coordinate and work alongside hardware, RF, mechanical, and electrical engineers to fully understand the systems and components being integrated into our Systems-of-Systems. Some customer site support activities, and demonstration test and evaluation activities.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree from an accredited institution

  • 5+ years of experience in full stack software development

  • Experience with Javascript (ES7)

  • Experience with Vuejs or similar Javascript framework

  • Understanding or use of Javascript state management frameworks: Redux. MobX, etc.

  • Knowledge or experience in Python, Java, C/C++. Multiple languages

  • A desire to step out of your comfort zone and grow as required

  • Experience with build tools; npm, gulp, webpack, gradle, maven, ant, etc.

  • Understanding and experience using/developing Restful APIs

  • Experience with geospatial toolkits or frameworks; CesiumJS, ArcGIS, OpenLayers, etc.

  • Experience with version control systems and related best practices, particularly Git

  • Strong experience with Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS)

  • Knowledge of DevOps procedures, processes, practices and an ability to help build the necessary infrastructure

  • A desire to automate (Ansible) everything and the wisdom to know when not to

  • Awareness and or experience with cyber-security best practices, tools, procedures, coding standards, use of third-party software, etc.

  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance required

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education

  • Networking experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced studies / Degree in a STEM area

  • Active DOD Secret, TS/SCI, or SSBI clearance

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time

  • Must be able to operate a computer

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $87,000-$123,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
