This position is responsible for assisting with the day to day technical support for the employees of the Early Learning coalition located in Palm Beach County. The IT Specialist is responsible for providing direct user support to all users in the organization, who can be located on premises or remote. This can include helping set up hardware or software, diagnosing connectivity or answering questions about hardware, software, or a variety of other questions. There will be some occasional after business hours work, primarily will involve patch management or network hardware.

Professional Skills
  • 5+ Years of providing technical customer service and working the helpdesk
  • 5+ years of Active Directory experience including troubleshooting replication issues, DNS problems and maintaining overall health of it.
  • 5+ years of solid knowledge of firewall management including creating VLAN, Ipsec tunnels, as well as thorough understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, LDAP, DNS, VOIP, POE, VPN's and Network Security.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting hardware peripherals such as printers, scanners, docking stations, usb headsets, web cams, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience configuring enterprise WAPs for load balancing, band steering, and general optimization
  • 3+ years experience managing Microsoft 365 user portal, including group and user permission management, Teams administration , SharePoint permissions, etc.
  • 5+ years of troubleshooting software, primarily Windows based software problems including but not limited to software corruption, repair via registry edit, etc
  • Windows 10 customization, imaging, and basic batch and PowerShell scripting is a plus.
  • Monitor network hardware, internet service providers, cloud services, etc for outages and performance degradation and proactive maintenance
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
  • Provide premium end user support in person, via phone, remote screenshare, etc.
  • Positive and professional phone and teleconference etiquette.
  • Must know how to mount equipment to shelves or walls and use common tools such as screwdrivers, hammers and power drills
  • Excellent oral (including presentations), written, interpersonal (active listening), skills and ability
  • Must be able to provide and host training for end users both in person and via webinar
  • Provide regular written and verbal updates to the IT Director/Manager team regarding ongoing issues, trends and potential problems or obstacles
  • Employ and follow IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Troubleshoot copier and printer problems, fix simple problems or dispatch copier support
  • Ability to multitask handle multiple incidents simultaneously
  • Experience Managing Microsoft Windows 2016 and 2019 servers including patching and securing them
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Basic experience with Netgear and Cisco switches
  • Expert experience troubleshooting business class laptops such as Lenovo, Dell or HP
  • Experience with business firewalls such as Sonicwall, Watchguard, Fortigate, pfSense
  • Experience installing and managing twain device s such as scanners or cameras
  • Experience managing and programming cloud based phone systems such as Ring Central, Dialpad, 8x8, etc.
  • Management of cloud based document library and storage systems such as SharePoint/OneDrive, Dropbox Business, Box.com, Egnyte, etc.
  • Microsoft 365 management
  • Experience with disk imaging tools from vendors such as Acronis, Smart Deploy , Symantec, Macrium
  • Experience with patch management tools such as SCCM, Solarwinds Patch Management or NPM, Jumpcloud or DesktopCentral
  • Experience managing an enterprise, cloud based Antivirus solution such as Webroot, ESET, Malwarebytes, Sophos, etc.
  • Basic understanding Microsoft Azure Active Directory
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure PAAS and IAAS offerings
  • Basic understanding how Single Sign on (SSO) and Multifactor Authentication (MFA) works
  • Experience with enterprise wifi systems such as Meraki, Aerohive or Ubiquiti Unifi
  • Experience with Remote Application servers such as Citrix Virtual Apps or Parallels RAS server desired but not required
  • Zendesk, Zoho Desk ticketing systems.
  • Experience with telecom and conferencing hardware such as Cisco, Polycom, Yealink, etc.

Maintenance Work:
  • Change out UPS batteries on a timely basis
  • Upgrade printer, router, scanner, conferencing system , etc. when necessary
  • Keep track on Inventory and relevant IT documentation
  • Deploy end user equipment such as laptops, smartphones, scanners, etc.
