Responsibilities:

The Project Engineer/Conveyor is responsible for electrical design (hardware and software), commissioning & standby support for conveyor control systems.

• Design of conveyor control systems to include:
• Interface with customer to establish design goals & get final buyoff of systems.
• Generate control cabinet design drawings.
• Follow through designs to equipment fabrication
• Responsible for specifying equipment.
• Write Descriptions of Operation / Functional Specification for projects.
• PLC programming using Rockwell and Siemens S7 software.
• Design communications networks using Ethernet/IP, DeviceNET, and Profibus/ProfiNet.
• Set-up of field devices (VFD's, servo's, etc.), barcode scanners and image readers.
• Assist in the HMI (Human/Machine Interface) design and development.
• Assist on project management functions (budget, schedule, procurement) for the controls portion of the projects.
• Participate in all site activities related to conveyor controls implementing including installation support, commissioning, testing, and stand by support.
• Work with electrical installation companies.
• Ability to communicate with internal groups of different disciplines as well as external customers and suppliers.
• Overtime may be necessary as work load's dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Participate in all company functions and meetings.

Qualificaions:

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in electrical or computer engineering or foreign equivalent
• Five or more years of position related experience
• Able to interpret NEC and local codes
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Skilled in PLC and graphic user interface programming, computer operating systems, networking
• Able to manage time, understand schedules and priorities
• Familiar with instrumentation and process control
• Willing and able to travel up to 60-70%
