Manages and supervises employees and functions relating to the Member Solutions department at Dow Chemical Employees' Credit Union.

Essential Duties
  • Oversee employees in the Member Solutions department through effective organizing, coaching, counseling, recognizing, appraising, and hiring and/or terminating in cooperation with the Human Resources department
  • Assigns accounts to Collectors and the Bankruptcy & Foreclosure Specialist
  • Prevents and minimizes the credit union's risk of lost assets through delinquencies, bankruptcies, foreclosures and repossessions
  • Collects on member accounts for large or complex delinquencies and collects on DCECU staff member delinquencies
  • Collaborates with the Director of Lending to proceed with mortgage modifications programs for members
  • Takes action to repossess, foreclosure, and take possession of collateral security involved with delinquent loans
  • Initiates legal action as necessary to collect from borrowers
  • Liaisons with attorneys, trustees, realtors and third-party agencies as direct contact person
  • Makes recommendations to the Director of Lending for products, services, and technology that would enhance member service and quality
  • Facilitates the foreclosure process with the Bankruptcy & Foreclosure Specialist
  • Reviews collections activity reports and reviews for compliance to federal and state regulations
  • Reports on the status and balance of collections accounts
  • Determines courses of actions and best practices to minimize debit and credit card fraud in collaboration with service providers
  • Maintains reports on Trouble Debt Restructures, Modifications and Forbearances
  • Backs up duties for Collectors and the Bankruptcy & Foreclosure Specialist
  • Accomplishes the credit union's mission by completing relevant duties as needed when requested by management or other staff members
Education Requirement

Bachelor's degree required
Substitution: Any combination of education beyond 30 60 college hours and collections or credit counseling experience may be considered sufficient to substitute for the Bachelor's degree requirement.

Years of Experience

Five to seven years of collections or credit counseling experience required; two years of which must have been in a leadership or supervisory capacity

Certifications or Licensure Required

Driver's license required
