OFFICE PROFILE: The Digital Marketing Manager works in concert with the Director of Marketing to manage digital marketing activities for the university's graduate and adult enrollment programs.

ROLE: As part of the division of University Advancement, Marketing, and Communications, the Digital Marketing Manager oversees the implementation of digital marketing strategies to drive awareness and lead generation for select graduate and adult enrollment programs. A strategic thinker with creative ability and excellent communication skills, the Digital Marketing Manager is actively involved in the management, content creation, and reporting of digital advertising activities across search engine marketing, paid social media networks, and email marketing for enrollment programs within their portfolio.

APPOINTMENT:

  • Recommended by the Director of Marketing.
  • Approved by the Vice President of Advancement, Marketing & Communications and Associate Vice President of Enrollment & Marketing.

STAFF RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to the Director of Marketing.
  • Interacts with Graduate Admissions Directors and Counselors on programs in their respective portfolios.
  • Interacts with Deans, Academic Program Directors, Faculty, and Staff for assigned graduate and adult enrollment programs.
  • Collaborates with the CRM Manager on email marketing and reporting.
  • Collaborates with the Social Media Manager on paid social media advertising campaigns.
  • Interacts with staff members across the division of University Advancement, Marketing, and Communications.
  • Interacts and may directly oversee contracted partners / vendors for select search engine marketing campaigns.
  • Interacts with contracted partners / vendors for website design and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

The responsibilities of the Digital Marketing Manager are focused on select graduate and adult enrollment programs for the university and generally contain duties in the following areas: search engine marketing, paid social media advertising, and email marketing.

Search Engine Marketing

  1. Interact with contracted partners for management of select graduate and adult enrollment search engine marketing campaigns.
  2. Research, concept, implement, and optimize search, display, and video campaigns across Google and Bing advertising networks.
  3. Develop content as necessary to support new campaigns and audit existing campaigns.
  4. Analyze data to develop reports both in-platform and through the CRM on campaign effectiveness and performance.
  5. Interpret data and reports to present findings relevant to the marketing of graduate and adult enrollment programs and their campaigns.

Paid Social Media Advertising

  1. Collaborate with an in-house team of Social Media Manager and Director of Marketing to manage paid advertising campaigns for select graduate and adult enrollment programs across social media networks.
  2. Exhibit proficiency and relevant expertise across the following social media platforms: Facebook / Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.
  3. Craft copy and develop creative assets necessary to implement new paid social media advertising campaigns.
  4. Analyze data to develop reports both in-platform and through the CRM on campaign effectiveness and performance.
  5. Interpret data and reports to present findings relevant to the marketing of graduate and adult enrollment programs and their campaigns.

Email Marketing

  1. Interact with Graduate Admissions Directors and Director of Marketing on development of email marketing strategies to support select graduate and adult enrollment programs.
  2. Collaborate with CRM Manager on implementation, management, and reporting on email marketing campaigns within Salesforce / Marketing Cloud.
  3. Exhibit proficiency and relevant expertise in best practices of email marketing for higher education.
  4. Craft copy and develop creative assets necessary to implement new email marketing campaigns.
  5. Analyze data to develop reports both through the CRM and website analytics to assess campaign effectiveness and performance.
  6. Interpret data and reports to present findings relevant to the marketing of graduate and adult enrollment programs and their campaigns.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • A./B.S. required.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Three years of experience in digital marketing, preferably within higher education.

  • Demonstrate understanding of higher education marketing strategy.
  • Exhibit experience and competence across the following digital platforms:
    • Google Ads (Search, Display, YouTube)
    • Microsoft Advertising (Bing, Yahoo)
    • Facebook for Business / Ads Manager
    • Twitter for Business / Advertising
    • LinkedIn Marketing Solutions / Advertising
    • Salesforce / Marketing Cloud (or comparable enterprise CRM marketing automation)
    • Google Analytics
    • Google Data Studio
  • Possess excellent critical thinking/analytical abilities and problem solving skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills that can be tapped when relating to a diverse group of people.
  • Be able to represent Concordia University in a variety of situations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (interpersonal, public address, and written communication).
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, be detail oriented, and be able to work unsupervised.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Have the ability to speak effectively to students, families or employees of the university.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Have the ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
