What you'll do: The position will play an integral role in the small, entrepreneurial impact investing team by leading design and implementation of impact measurement and reporting for a growing portfolio of impact investments. You will significantly contribute to shaping concepts related to the impact innovative small and growing businesses can have on economic, social, and environmental development outcomes and then capture the evidence of effectiveness (or lack thereof). You will use these findings to showcase how the integration of enterprise-based development and impact investing into broader Corus programming can enhance development outcomes and support overall practice building strategies.
Location: Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD on a Hybrid Work Schedule
About The Ideal Candidate: You are analytical, creative, and self-driven with a passion for data-driven approaches. You are intrigued by the thought of applying your skills and interests to influencing the design and implementation of investing strategies that deliver economic, environmental, and social impact. The ideal candidate is stimulated by the challenges of crafting solutions to capture and interpret data from complex settings (smallholder farming communities in frontier markets, e.g.) alongside ambitious but resource-strapped partners (entrepreneurs). You are comfortable using both quantitative and qualitative data to master a topic and enjoy telling a story or proving (or disproving) a case. You can present information in many forms in compelling ways. You are as comfortable producing reports and case studies as making presentations to Leadership and Boards, and value strategic discussions and the occasional (friendly) debate with colleagues.
Requirements: This role requires a minimum four-year college degree and candidates should have significant professional experience (at least 7 years) showing progression in expertise and achievements. Candidates with private (startups a plus) and/or public sector experience are welcome to apply. You must be willing to travel for standard domestic and international business purposes, in particular to economically developing countries.
Location: The position could sit in our offices in either Washington, DC or Baltimore, MD.
