The Role

Business Development Representative

The Objectives of the Business Development Representative include:

  • Achieve and exceed established sales quota with new clients acquisition through sales of IT managed services, upgrades to current services, infrastructure support and services, disaster recovery and backup, hosting and colocation, maintenance renewals and website design and development.
  • Prospect for new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain referral network relationships to generate qualified leads.
  • Become a trusted advisor to help prospective clients with technology solutions and cybersecurity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow services offered to new clients.
  • Create, qualify, and assist with developing new sales opportunities through cold calling, account strategy, proposal generation, client relations and networking.
  • Identify, contact, listen to, qualify, and close potential customers
  • Prospecting to include cold calling, utilizing referral partnerships, network through business relationships and events with client and network, utilizing LinkedIn, etc.
  • Accountable for the timely creation, completion, submission, and follow-up of all new client proposals
  • Successfully oversee new client on-boarding ensuring smooth integration working in conjunction with Account Management to ensure a successful implementation.
  • Develop and maintain competitive knowledge of products to leverage in sales cycle.
  • Consistent performance against quotas, goals, and targets.
  • Assist in marketing campaigns designed to generate interest and awareness of new products, programs, and enhancements.
  • Build a referral network and meet with referral partners (strategic relationship meetings) monthly
  • Negotiate proposals and agreements
  • Daily documentation into CRM (meeting notes, to-dos etc.)

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years' sales experience, preferably in technology industry

  • Relationship building with prospects and strategic relationships

  • Comfortable with technical sales and ongoing learning
