Major Responsibilities
Consulate of Norfolk is looking for a Registered Nurse or Lpn to join our staff as an Admissions Nurse. In this position, you be will be the first point of contact for patients as they come into our facility. Your primary responsibilities include administrative task such as collecting medical information.
You will work closely with the Admissions team. On the days that you do not have admissions, we may expect you to provide patient care. While you will be working with a team of other medical professionals, you may administer medicine or take vitals when necessary. You will also educate and examine patients for potential issues before discharge. Experience working at a skilled facility is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Obtain medical history from patients upon admissions
Collect insurance information and have patients fill out proper paperwork
Coordinate with medical director and nursing staff to provide comprehensive patient care
Educate patients on treatment, therapy, and recovery
Requirements and Qualifications
Associate degree in nursing; bachelor's p
RN or LPN license
Familiarity with pre-and post op procedures
Strong communication and patient care skills
Experience working with vulnerable populations
