A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
In this valuable position, you facilitate a caring relationship with K-8th grade children, many of whom lack a mentoring adult in their lives. In addition to offering developmentally appropriate enrichment activities, you provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment that promotes learning and growth. You actively coordinate with the lead teacher to implement the educational curriculum and ensure classroom activities are based on established standards.
Understanding that children are unique individuals, you make appropriate adjustments to their daily routines and activities as needed, with an emphasis on each child's cultural, linguistic, and familial values. Through effective communication, you build strong relationships with both the children and their families. There is no greater reward than knowing you assisted a child in reaching his or her true potential!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
- 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to complete and stay up to date in relevant health and safety trainings
- Can pass a background check
- Physical ability to perform the requirements of the position

WORK SCHEDULE FOR AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
