The Product Development Team is seeking to fill a Product Specialist position. In this role, the individual will assume administrative and project management responsibilities to support the Product Development Team (PDT). Specific initiatives include new product development, product and component standardization, component category analysis, component catalog development and general project work. The Product Specialist will act as a liaison between the PDT and other departments to ensure projects are being completed on time. The ideal candidate must have strong proficiency working in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and be highly organized with the ability to present information clearly and confidently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct product category usage analysis to drive standardization across the business.
  • Work cross-functionally between departments to ensure projects are being completed as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Build and maintain standard component catalogs.
  • Build and maintain product component image library.
  • Develop drop/add notification process for products and components - product memos.
  • Support PDT and Product Lifecycle Manager(s)with Analysis of Sales Data for National and Plant Models to guide business decisions about new product and product sunsetting.
  • Work with analytics team to track and report standardization progress.
  • Work with vendors to obtain and archive pertinent information such as images, instructions, sell sheets, etc.
  • Coordinate meetings and prototyping between the PDT, vendors, and plants - in person and remote.
  • Gain familiarity with general construction practices and materials and understand how they apply to the products built at our plants.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Product Components.
  • Gain knowledge and proficiency using Champions Operating system.

Required Skills:

  • Four-year degree in business or marketing related field is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.
  • Familiarity with general residential construction and materials.
  • General understanding of housing market trends.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion.
