Summary
The Learning & Development Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing effective and engaging courses and educational experiences as part of our ongoing technological modernization initiative. The Learning & Development Specialist will apply instructional design and adult learning theory and best practices to best execute a blended learning approach across instructor-led, web-based, and system-integrated delivery methods.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and collaborate with business process owners and subject-matter experts to articulate learning outcomes, develop courses, and publish training materials
- Assess training and development needs for corporate, manufacturing, sales, and retail locations and teams
- Formulate training curricula and determine ideal instructional method based on course audience and objectives
- Utilize e-learning authoring tools (i.e. Articulate or similar) to produce learning and training materials in a variety of formats
- Create multimedia elements (audio/video/graphic/animated) to enhance course delivery method
- Conduct Train-the-Trainer sessions for presenters with varying levels of facilitation experience
- Maintain digital repository of all course materials and training assets, including managing content revisions and stakeholder reviews in conjunction with quarterly system updates
- Perform administrative functions necessary to assign, deliver, track, and analyze specific training courses within online Learning Management and Guided Learning Systems
- Update role-based learning maps as communication and readiness tool for relevant stakeholders, managers, and impacted end users to understand training requirements
- Deliver in-person and virtual instructor-led group training sessions
- Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods
- Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study (business, management, human resources, instructional design, or education)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the following:
- Training delivery, class facilitation, group presentations, and train-the-trainer
- Producing and publishing course materials with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.)
- Utilizing Microsoft Office suite of tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to meet remote work/telecommuting requirements, on occasion and as agreed upon
- Ability to travel 25-30% of the time
