Summary
The Tax Analyst will be responsible for preparing federal, state & local income/franchise tax returns and analyzing and preparing sales & use tax filings. This position is also responsible for assisting with tax research, income tax provision workpapers and audit support.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare corporate federal, state & local income/franchise tax filings including estimates and extensions
- Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation or review of sales & use tax returns under tight deadlines
- Analyze sales data from plants and identify potential reporting issues
- Research sales & use tax treatment of complex transactions with an emphasis on manufacturing and construction contracting
- Prepare income tax provision calculations and workpapers
- Respond to correspondence and notices from various tax authorities
- Work with tax auditors and public auditors as required
- Provide tax advice to members of the corporate organization
- Organize and maintain tax records to provide adequate support for audits
Competencies
- Working knowledge of federal, state & local tax concepts – federal consolidated returns, state income tax separate, combined and unitary filings and sales & use taxes
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness while completing tasks in a timely manner
- Excellent analytical skills encompassing problem identification, evaluation and resolution

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university
- At least one year of experience in the tax field
