Primary Focus

Responsible for supporting quality assurance of Business Continuity (BC) deliverables related to Planning and Testing. Drive this annual effort to improve recoverability and resiliency across the Global Markets Tech, Global Banking Tech, and Risk Finance Tech spaces. Program responsibility requires tracking applications' ability to perform testing while ensuring recovery strategies are documented and tested according to BC standards. Serves as the secondary contact to senior department managers within each supported CIO team and is responsible for tracking compliance and remediation strategies for any applications that are not in compliance with planning and testing standard requirements. Communicates, influences and negotiates both vertically and horizontally to obtain or leverage necessary resources to complete deliverables on time. Accountable for analyzing the present state of the program, developing alternative future-state approaches, and facilitating implementation. Creates a clear, coherent approach to guide effective program/initiative setup, execution, and control. Responsible for ensuring responsibilities and accountability is clearly defined across each Technology team. This role is critical to the transformation of Technology's Business Continuity Planning and Testing capabilities. The candidate who assumes this role will provide QA reviews of Technical Recovery Plans (TRPs) and testing at the component level providing oversight and reporting of findings. Job Responsibilities

  • Review TRPs and Test records against application standard operating procedures (SOR's), ensuring both plans and technical testing meet internal standards.
  • Construct and manage governance routines to connect QA programs with remediation projects across multiple businesses while ensuring leaders have transparency into findings.
  • Business-centric mindset the with ability to utilize sound business judgment and tailor approach to drive optimal business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of banking application environments and the ability to think broadly across multiple organizations to ensure inclusion of all sub-lines of businesses, geographical, regions and support functions, etc.
  • Provide timely and effective updates on QA program management routines, identifying successes and opportunities.
  • Familiarity with enterprise business controls and tools, processes, and standards related to the business resiliency planning and testing risk in Financial Services. Control background knowledge of Market and Banking technologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of application testing is preferred. Problem solver who can manage ambiguity successfully. Strong partnering and relationship-building skills.
  • Proactive and "no surprises" approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent reviews. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and develop unique solutions to business issues.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of adapting to change, managing multiple tasks, and continuously evaluating priorities to lead tasks /projects to completion.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues and themes to stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to connect the dots and make sense of information across multiple data points upstream/downstream that may not be easily noticeable.

Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong business-centric mindset with the ability to utilize sound business judgment and tailor approach to drive optimal business outcomes.
  • Ability to align with effective program management oversight and governance routines Strong understanding of banking application environments and the ability to think broadly across multiple organizations to ensure inclusion of all sub-lines of businesses, geographical region, and support functions, etc.
  • Provide timely and effective executive-level updates on program management routines, successes, and opportunities.
  • Ensure Technology Groups remediate issues, and root causes and recommend both short- and long-term action plans.
  • Familiar with the Continuity Planning Tool or other Business Continuity tools.
  • Contributes experience and process knowledge to strategy development and should have strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working with complex Information Technology environments and program management.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, and articulate manner to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.

  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of common database and reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
