Primary Focus

The Electrician will be responsible for all the preventive maintenance and repair on all of the facility electrical systems.

Job Responsibilities

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Installs or repair any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.

Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.

Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

All electrical work performed must be under the direct supervision and responsibility of this position.

Must be on-site at all times during the performance of work on any of the systems, equipment and components.

Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Five (5) years' experience on equivalent electrical systems.
  • Valid proof of successfully completed training equal to an electrical journeyman level, certified on:
    • Control wiring,
    • VFD's (to include programming,
    • fire alarm systems,
    • security systems,
    • maintenance of secondary power transformers; and
    • testing of wiring and electrical equipment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all background, security, and clearances required to perform the duties of this position.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communications in English.

Working Conditions

  • Professional on-site office and maintenance environment.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Physically able to move about in a maintenance environment to include walking, stooping, bending, stretching, and climbing ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must maintain a safe, productive, and professional work environment.
