The Health and Safety Director is responsible for the development, implementation and execution of Cayuse Government subsidiaries and support other Cayuse Holding's subsidiaries of behavior based safety practices, audits functions for health and safety procedure implementation, ensures compliance with Company, OSHA, DoD, State and local regulations and requirements. All duties and responsibilities performed in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Core Values of Cayuse.


• Review and revise existing Company Health and Safety plans to reflect current company requirements and industry standards and maintain the Plan to ensure continued relevance.
• Conducts incident and accident investigations and establishes root-cause analysis of health and safety incidents.
• Monitors and documents the effectiveness of safety control measures used throughout the company and directs staff in the implementation of the Health and Safety Program.
• Evaluating practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
• Conduct training and presentation for healthy and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Provide review and authorization for accident prevention, accident hazard analyses, and other safety-related plans and forms generated to support various projects/contract requirements.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
• Analyze project/contract operational risks, hazards and safety requirements, and prepare Activity Hazard Analyses for projects/contracts activities, as required.
• Analyze and establish Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements for project/contract operations and activities.
• Review, revise and approve changes to project/contract specific safety and health plans and other safety-related documents.
• Establish and enforce safety and health requirements for all company operations.
• Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure all project/contract personnel are current with respect to safety and health training requirements.
• Conduct or facilitate annual Safety, Health, and OSHA training.
• Participate in business development activities and preparation of proposal response narratives relating to health and safety.
• Participate in preparation of pre-qualification documentation related to the company's safety record/statistics and Health & Safety Plan and program.
• Assist in the selection of project/contract required safety personnel, providing them training, as needed.


• Education: BA/BS in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
• Credentialed as a Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
• Minimum of 10 years occupational safety and health experience.
• Familiarity with contractor health and safety requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Navy.
• Familiarity with risk management for "field" employees.
• Familiarity with risk management for "remote" personnel, working from home office locations.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office; including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and other general software applications.
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
• High level of knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and assess a vast amount of highly technical information in a time constrained environment.
• Maintain all required personal certifications and qualifications related to your role as Health & Safety Director.


Munitions Response / Unexploded Ordnance Safety and/or Over-water operations experience is not required, but a plus.

• General office environment but may be required to conduct inspections and/or investigate incidents in all types of work environments.
• May be exposed to weather, fumes, hazards, etc. when conducting safety and health inspections, incident investigates
