POSITION DESCRIPTION

Our Proposal Technical Writer will be responsible for coordinating, managing, writing, and developing compliant and persuasive proposals used to capture new business opportunities, focused primarily on federal contracts. Special effort will be given to large mission critical development and sustainment programs focusing on IT Services.

Expertise in the design, build, delivery, and operation of network environments, call centers, enterprise services, cloud services, software development, data management, systems design, and cybersecurity is a must. The Technical Writer will ensure that all RFP instructions and SOW requirements are carefully met in all proposal documents and ensures that all required criteria is captured.

The Technical Writer will develop technical solutions based on the customers need as outlined in the SOW. Our technical writer works with Proposal and Project Managers to churn out client proposals, support technical reports and client deliverables, and join the business development and capture teams to lend organization and editing to RFP responses. No two days are the same and your contributions are critical to our success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write and/or edit technical documents, including business proposals, reports, user manuals, briefings and presentations, functional descriptions, system specifications, guidelines, special reports, and other deliverables to meet requirements.
  • Research and gather technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables.
  • Consult relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing deliverables.

  • Develops technical and management strategies to meet proposal requirements
  • Follows specified capture and proposal processes and procedures
  • Develops and writes reusable / boiler plate content for proposals
  • Maintain the libraries or files needed to create or edit the requested content.
  • Determines proposal requirements and coordinates with other departments for proposal input
  • Attends pre-proposal conferences and site visits when required
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet all deadlines

  • Conducts research if needed on RFP technical/functional areas to gain better understanding of areas to be addressed and responded to
  • Solicits and compiles team questions; monitors questions and answers responses and distributes to proposal team and partnering firms
  • Ensures writing is compliant with proposal criteria and instructions
  • Collaborates with other professionals to develop winning strategies
  • Integrates review comments from multiple sources into the proposal ensuring page count and consistency throughout

  • Coordinates with Subcontractors and other Prime contractors
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet all deadlines
  • Ensuring that narrative and technical solution is clear, understandable, cohesive, concise, and accessible to the intended audience.
  • Checking for clarity and consistency in grammar and style.
  • Ensuring accuracy and consistency in use of technical terms throughout a document or series of related documents.

  • Will involve multidisciplinary coordination, in stages, from initial information gathering, to draft status, to final status.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years of prior experience preparing written technical proposals and management documents of a technical nature is expected.

  • Expertise in IT Services such as network environments, call centers, enterprise services, cloud services, software development, data management, systems design, and cybersecurity.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior knowledge of U.S. Government contracting processes is essential.
  • Candidate should have a strong portfolio of captured targeted projects using technical writing skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, including use of Styles and Templates.
  • Strong attention to detail while retaining the ability to see the bigger picture.

  • The ability to adhere to aggressive deadlines and to handle pressure.
  • Strong organizational habits, analytical skills as well as effective written and spoken communication skills
  • The ability to work with multidisciplinary internal teams as well as external partners and clients to ensure that content is captured accurately, thoroughly, yet concisely and consistently, throughout a document or series of documents.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting whenever necessary

WORKING CONDITIONS

100% remote occasional night and weekend work
