An additional $2.50 per hour temporary wage incentive will be offered for all hours worked July 25, 2021 through December 31, 2021.

The Kid's Corner Assistant is a part-time position responsible for providing a safe and fun environment in which both children and parents feel comfortable. An employee in this position supervises children in a childcare setting at the Summit on the Park.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Note: These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed)

  • Responsible for creating an inviting, friendly and comfortable atmosphere for children ages three months to eleven years of age
  • Ensures a safe environment for all participants and visitors
  • Promotes Leisure Services Core Values and provides excellent customer service; including but not limited to, greeting and interacting with participants and families in a positive and friendly manner.
  • Responsible for the accuracy and maintenance of the check-in/check-out form
  • Leads children of various ages, up to eleven years of age, in games and other group activities
  • Enforces all childcare policies as well as general building policies
  • Sterilizes and cleans all toys and materials at the end of each day
  • Attends staff meetings as scheduled and assigned
  • Performs other assigned duties as required


  • Minimum age of 16 years old.
  • Must be able to possess Basic First Aid and CPR (Adult and Infant) certifications within 60 days of employment.
  • Previous childcare (babysitting) experience is required.
  • Prior experience working with children ages three months to eleven years old is preferred.
  • Must feel comfortable working with children ages three months to eleven years.
  • Ability to compassionately and effectively supervise small children.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems, and policies with fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Must be willing to conform to department uniform policy.
  • Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
  • This is an "At-Will" position: Work assignments and hours are scheduled based on availability, division requirements and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time due to division needs, budgeting constraints and staff availability.

  • This is a part-time job opportunity. An employee in this position can work up to a maximum of 29 hours per week year-round. Work hours, however, will be solely determined based on workload and availability.
  • This is an at-will position. Hours are limited and will vary based on the operational needs of the department. Employees in this position are not full-time and will be classified as part-time employees.
