We are seeking an Accountant to join our team. Ideal candidates will possess a fun, positive, energetic attitude and thrive in a fast-paced, and dynamic work environment.

The Accountant will perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments and prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities while ensuring all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Position is also responsible in resolving any discrepancies or irregularities they find in records, statements, or documented transactions.

This Key Role will:

  • Handle daily accounting responsibilities including Affiliate payments and Accounts Payable, Client invoicing and Accounts Receivable, Journal Entries, Reconciliation of Accounts, etc.
  • Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger.
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
  • Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
  • Prepare client invoices, reconciles Client accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Schedule electronic payments, verify payment of invoices and ensure payments are properly booked.
  • Provide the executive team and outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Prepare and file required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies including employment and sales and use tax returns.
  • As appropriate, coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software.
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing, recommending, and following policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups.
  • Complete month-end and year-end close process.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, affiliates, and vendors.
  • Communicate with the executive team on work status and issues that arise.

We're looking for an Accountant who has:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Proficiency utilizing financial systems and reporting packages
  • Proficiency with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
