ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

Park Host (Seasonal Positions Available)

Public Use Areas at Possum Kingdom Lake


SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of these positions are to assist the park patrons for Brazos River Authority (BRA) public use areas at Possum Kingdom Lake. The public use areas offer camping sites, covered picnic shelters, restrooms/showers, playgrounds, swimming areas, boat ramp/courtesy docks. Duties and responsibilities include: assisting park patrons with questions; providing information about the Hike & Bike Trails along with other park information; keeping the park & beach areas clean; picking up trash; emptying trash receptacles, clean restrooms from time to time, and providing information about BRA Park Policies. There are two parks that will require Park Hosts, one park has overnight camping, the other is day use only. Required days needed for park host duties are Friday and Saturday from 8am until 8pm, & Sunday 8 am until noon and holidays: additional days may be needed for special events. Hosts will also be on-call during the night of the days referenced above in case of emergencies. 2 - RV pads, with full hook-ups, will be provided for your RV from May 22nd, 2023, through September 2023. YOU MUST HAVE A RV / CAMPER TO APPLY.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to recognize the meaning of common two or three syllable words; ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations; ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses. The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. These detailed instructions normally allow little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may, at times, provide close and constant review while work is under way and when the assignment is completed.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.


POSTING DATE: February 14th, 2023 position starts mid-May. Open until filled


CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: Valid Texas Driver's license and good driving record are required.


SALARY: $12.00 per hour. Please note: This is a temporary position which is scheduled to last from mid-May to mid-September.
