Beloit College invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of Psychology to begin in August 2023. A Ph.D. in psychology is required; candidates who are ABD and expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 2023 will also be considered. Successful candidates must have teaching interests and research specialties in biological psychology, as well as the ability to teach one or both courses in our research methods and statistics sequence, and at least one other content area e.g. sensation and perception, memory and cognition, drugs and behavior, or learning theory.

The successful candidate must exhibit exceptional enthusiasm for, and commitment to, undergraduate teaching and in expanding efforts of equity, inclusion, and anti-racism, and must demonstrate pedagogies or research that aligns with or will engage our increasingly diverse student body. We seek an individual who will foster student research and involve students in their professional scholarship, so experience mentoring undergraduates is a plus. The standard teaching load is six courses per year.

Faculty at Beloit College have multiple opportunities to contribute to all-college programs, including the advanced mentoring program, career channels, and international education. Participation in campus governance is also an expectation of employment. Opportunities to collaborate with colleagues outside the department and with community partners are plentiful.
