The Position: The successful UAS Communications/Networking Systems Engineer candidate will provide communications and networking systems engineering support of the Triton UAS program for the full system engineering life-cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, implementation (production and retrofit), Operations and support for fielded assets, as well as DMS for specific communications and network WRAs within the Unmanned Air Vehicle and Ground segment devices.

The Description:

Leads the timely development of proposal cost/price strategies and cost volume deliverables for government and commercial proposals varying in size and complexity in accordance with technical, management and cost specifications of a request for proposal (RFP). Includes the coordination of kick-off and fact-finding meetings, collection of cost, scheduling and performance elements from functional departments, cost/pricing strategy and analytical support. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing contract deliverables for accuracy, attending design reviews, consulting with appropriate military communications and networking infrastructure design personnel.
  • Candidate will participate in working groups and interface with contractor and government activities on behalf of the PMA.
  • Candidate will provide communications systems engineering support of various U/VHF radio communications systems, Common Data Link (CDL) systems, commercial/government satellite communications systems and other audio and data communication links.
  • Candidate will provide network systems engineering support for various terrestrial operational and developmental test networks, interfacing with both government and commercial activities providing transport layer support to Triton, as well as operational support for current activities.
  • Ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met.
  • Contributes to the development of organization's goals and objectives and provide solutions.

The successful candidate will have the education and experience below:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering and six (6+) years of communications system development or network engineering design/support; required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with operating systems for military UAS and ground station, their functions, policies and procedures is desired.
  • Experience in Tactical Data Links, Military Communications, DOD Networks, GIG, ADNS, Common Data Link (CDL), Link 16, and JTRS
  • ACTIVE TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Travel requirement: 10-15%

The Working Environment: The physical environment requires the employee to be sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. On some occasions, the employee may be required to drive to offices or buildings near the work site. In rare occasions, travel may be required.
