Summary DescriptionJEP is a multi-location and multi-functional manufacturing organization utilizing several different ERP systems that must be administered. The Accountant/Payroll is responsible for timely processing of payroll for multiple divisions, as well as supporting other general accounting functions. This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor and provides support to the controllership function. |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Payroll Processing - Work as a team with other payroll specialist to ensure accurate and timely completion of payroll processing on a weekly/bi-weekly basis. Act as back-up to the second payroll specialist to ensure no disruptions to payroll processing. Payroll Journal Entries - Once payroll is processed, generate GL Interface files for payrolls, validate accounting lines and record the entries to the individual companies ERP system. Payroll related projects - Working with Human Resource Department and management to assist as necessary in the execution of payroll related projects. Other Payroll Responsibilities - Work closely with ADP representatives to resolve any payroll related issues, as well as improve processes. Month end close - Assist with accurate and timely month and year end close process. Responsibilities include creation of journal entries, preparation of working papers/schedules, and department level review and analysis. Account reconciliations and analysis - Perform and review account reconciliations monthly as part of the month end close process. Other - duties as assigned or as business needs require. |
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance At least 3+ years in accounting field, preferably in a manufacturing environment. At least 3+ years in payroll processing (experience with ADP preferred). Oracle experience is preferable. |
