A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAD START FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR
As a family advocate, you are the strength that encourages families to be positive and successful in life. You guide and support engagement activities between parents and their children. Your active listening and patience to understand families and their unique situations aid in providing the long-lasting improvement they need. With excellent organizational skills, you arrange educational, financial, social, health, and mental health accommodations. Your family services are significantly utilized with teamwork. You assist our administrative team, classroom staff, health staff, and the parent group president. As an admirable family advocate, you are the vital light at the end of the tunnel for our Kansas communities.
HEAD START FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in an Early Childhood program or working with children and/or families
- Fluent in verbal and written English and Spanish
- Obtain Child & Family Partners certificate through KCSL 18 months after hire
- Valid Driver's License with current auto insurance
- Ability to pass all KCSL background checks

HEAD START FAMILY ENGAGEMENT COORDINATOR WORK SCHEDULE
Typically, our full-time family advocate offers family services Monday through Friday during business hours. Your assistance is ongoing and always appreciated by attending house calls throughout the month as needed.
