A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAD START TEACHER
As a Head Start Teacher, you take pride in having a direct, positive impact on your students and their families. Always compassionate and caring, you work with both children and parents to develop skills that will help them be successful at home, at school, and at work. No two days are exactly the same as you teach children academic subjects while helping develop their social and emotional skills. You help prepare smaller lesson plans and activities that meet individual student needs and creatively implement the designated curriculum.
While teaching, you create positive relationships with your students, and you make them feel like they can come to you with anything. You love hanging out with kids all day, and you find great satisfaction in helping students and their families live happier and healthier lives!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HEAD START TEACHER
- Associate degree in early childhood education
- Heart for working with young children
KCSL requires all employees to be fully vaccinated by January 2022. Religious and medical exemptions are available, and weekly testing is required for all approved exemptions.
