As our Head Start Teacher Assistant, we rely on you to channel your passion for early childhood education into your full-time, year-round mission-focused role on our team. Much of your time is spent providing teachers with reliable collaboration for assistance with the children, paperwork, lesson plans, or tracking. Additionally, you help with daily classroom setup, and ultimately help keep rooms cleaned, organized, and equipped with essential materials for various learning activities. You help ensure playground, classroom, and bus areas are safe for children and staff, and you further assist with school field trips to keep students safe and engaged.

In addition to helping us maintain our educational environment, you are passionate about preventing child abuse and neglect, and your role here helps create a safe and positive environment for students in our care. You work with both children and parents to develop skills for success in the various areas of their lives. When parent meetings are taking place, you help plan and lead activities to help keep children occupied. At the end of the day, you are proud of the role you play on our team and enjoy seeing your hard work pay off in happy, thriving children who enjoy learning and families who feel supported and cared for in their children's education!


  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent
  • Can pass a background check and drug test
  • Current driver's license
  • Dependable transportation with auto insurance

An associate degree in early childhood education is preferred. Two years of experience in an early childhood program and educational experience with young children would be a plus. Being bilingual is preferred, but not required. If you can meet these requirements and perform this early childhood education job as described above, we would be happy to have you as part of our nonprofit team!
