Kansas Children's Service League of Garden City, Kansas is currently hiring for a motivated full-time Head Start Program Assistant to join our nonprofit team as we seek to effectively support our Head Start children toward future successful development. This full-time program assistant position typically works Monday through Friday during normal business hours and earns a competitive hourly wage of up to $11 per hour. REQUIREMENTS

Our Head Start Program Assistant is crucial to the success of the children and families in our Head Start program. You are a hands-on teacher's aide who enjoys communicating with parents and kids as you greet and welcome them to our center, and actively engage with student activities and lessons. You never shy away from making a genuine connection, so you regularly utilize your robust communication skills to foster positive relationships with children, their families, and fellow team members. Additionally, you analyze and evaluate your role and effectiveness, and continually work toward ensuring our children are comfortable and safe in our care. Being personable and friendly permeates all that you do, and you regularly take advantage of opportunities to connect, even spending intentional time with children on the school bus! Finally, you are self-motivated, and happy to take the lead when it comes to preparing meals and snacks, setting tables, and guiding children in proper hygiene like washing hands and brushing their teeth. Ultimately, we rely on you to not only aid in the success of our Head Start program but more importantly, to aid in the future success of the children and families we serve!

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Driver's License with current auto insurance
  • Pass all KCSL background checks

Our ideal Head Start Support staff member preferably has volunteer or vocational experience working with young children, and is also bilingual!
