A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OUR HEAD START TEACHER AIDE
Our full-time Head Start Teacher Aide provides assistance and support for our Head Start program through positive interactions with the children we serve, and a desire to see children grow and flourish in their education. Much of your day is spent utilizing your interpersonal and organizational skills as you complete tasks ranging from welcoming families to engaging with student activities and lesson planning, sorting paperwork, and organizing supplies and cleaning the classroom. You desire to foster positive family relationships, and make sure your enthusiastic demeanor is evident in all that you do. Additionally, you are sure to consider students' individual needs as you manage your time and daily tasks. You are efficient when preparing meal and snack time, setting the tables, and assisting the children with sanitary and personal hygiene measures before and after meals. Ultimately, we rely on you to help our classrooms to run smoothly, and to forge positive, life-giving relationships with our students.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Volunteer or vocational experience working with young children and being bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred! Are you excited about playing a role in the future of today's youth? Can you manage a variety of classroom tasks? Do you enjoy thinking creatively as you consider how to differentiate learning for each child in your care? If yes, we want you on our nonprofit team!
This full-time hourly schedule allows for ample time in the classroom, while ensuring a healthy work/life balance can be maintained.
