Objective:

Perform a wide variety of marketing/member service/clerical functions in support of the Cooperative's Marketing and Member Services department. This position will require time spent in activities related to marketing and member services duties. This position will assist the Department Manager in the development and preparation of marketing, promotional and advertising material, as well as employee and member communications, newsletters, web content, social media content, etc.

Responsibilities and Authorities:

Prepare quarterly member newsletter and monthly employee newsletters to include concept development, writing and editing
Use publishing software for the creation of newsletters, advertisements, brochures, web content, social media content, etc.
Manage social media pages by posting updates and responding to comments and messages
Assist with development of press releases
Assist with development of print and radio advertising concepts, and monitor sales/inquiries to determine effectiveness
Assist in preparation and proofing of ad copy for radio and newspaper
Assist with development, administration, and review of member surveys
Create and deliver presentations to membership, civic groups, schools, etc.
Provide support necessary for the administration of the Lea County Electric Education Foundation, Government-In-Action Youth Tour, Coloring Contest, Water Heater sales and Donation Programs
Participate in appropriate civic and service organizations
Prepare materials for member meetings and mailings
Plan for Annual Meeting, county fairs, member meetings, special meetings and such other functions as may be required, coordinate same through Department Manager
Assist with developing methods to improve, monitor, and measure member service satisfaction
Use website analytics to ascertain the relative effectiveness of ongoing campaigns and understand the way users interact with the website

Internal:

Marketing and Member Services: assist with marketing efforts, newsletters, website content, social media content, etc

External:

Members: communicate cooperative policies and gain acceptance of same; positively represent Lea County Electric to members
Press: communicate with local newspapers and radio stations, and regional/national print publications to ensure accuracy and placement of advertisements and press release
Online: arrange website content and social media content
Vendors: arrange for printing/shipment of newsletters, brochures, marketing material and other publications

education:

High school diploma or G.E.D. required, Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related field preferred

experience:

Applicant must have at least three years of prior experience in a public contact job with experience in marketing, advertising, publishing/typesetting, accounting procedures, social media, and creative software (Adobe Suite).

The fully competent incumbent must possess the following knowledge:

Cooperative policies and procedures relating to service, payment, rates, connection/disconnection, capital credits and other issues dealt with on a frequent basis
Strong writing and graphic arts skills
3 years of experience in marketing
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Superior organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of relevant marketing tools and applications is a must
Knowledge of social media communication a must
Interpersonal communication skills both in person and on the phone
Basic mathematics
Knowledge of safety issues affecting office workers
General office procedures
