Helping Women Return to the Workforce
by Lynna Peterson
Announcing a FREE workshop series to help women looking to return to the workforce…
The Harvard Business Review recently published an article entitled “Why Women Don’t Apply for Jobs Unless They’re 100% Qualified” which helps identify some self-imposed setbacks women experience in the workforce. These perceived limitations discourage women from applying for the jobs they want and instead settle for the jobs that they are sure they can get.
This situation is even worse for women who have taken time off to start or raise a family and now wish to get back to work. Many end up settling for a lower level job, at a lower pay rate, simply because they don’t know how to go about getting the type of job that they have the potential of excelling at.
If you’re a woman who has been out of the workforce, bridging that gap between unemployed and employed can be a scary and daunting situation. Where do you begin your job search? How do you fill the empty space in your resume? Most importantly, how can you prove your worth to a future employer if you’ve been out of the job market for a couple years or more? Is it even possible to secure the job you want even if you have very limited experience in the field?
The answer is a resounding YES! You don’t have to settle for the right now; not with the right arsenal of tools in your employment toolbox!
ApplicantPro, a hiring software company located right here in “the Ranches” in Eagle Mountain, is putting on a series of free workshops specifically designed to give you the knowledge and tools needed to get the job that you truly deserve. Our team works with over 3000 employers across the country, so we know exactly what they are looking for when they hire. What’s more, most of our employees are working moms, so they’ve been in your shoes and know exactly the challenges that you face.
This introductory workshop will give you a high level understanding of the steps you need to take to prepare for and secure a great job. Followup workshops will dig deeper into the specific details of each step you need to take, including one-on-one coaching and guidance.
All workshops are free of charge, think of it as our way to give back to the community that we all live in and love!
